Study Tools
If you don't have a Bible you need to get one, it is the most important
book you can own. It is the Book of the Covenant of God to mankind. It
is the source and the goal of our Study.
The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of
salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines
are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its
decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and
practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you,
and comfort to cheer you.
It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the
soldier's sword, and the Christian's charter. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven
opened, and the gates of hell disclosed.
Christ is its grand subject, our good the design, and the glory of God
its end.
It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly,
frequently, and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a
river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgement,
and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, will
reward the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred
contents.

Obedience to the Heavenly Vision
If we lose "the heavenly vision" God has given us, we alone are responsible? not God. We lose the vision because of our own lack of spiritual growth. If we do not apply our beliefs about God to the issues of everyday life, the vision God has given us will never be fulfilled. The only way to be obedient to "the heavenly vision" is to

Being an Example of His Message
We are not saved only to be instruments for God, but to be His sons and daughters. He does not turn us into spiritual agents but into spiritual messengers, and the message must be a part of us. The Son of God was His own message? "The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life" ( John 6:63 ). As His disciples, our lives must be a

Turning Back or Walking with Jesus?
What a penetrating question! Our Lord?s words often hit home for us when He speaks in the simplest way. In spite of the fact that we know who Jesus is, He asks, "Do you also want to go away?" We must continually maintain an adventurous attitude toward Him, despite any potential personal risk."From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more" ( John 6:66 ). They turned

God?s Mercies
Less than the least of all God?s mercies.? This was the motto 17th-century English poet and clergyman George Herbert engraved on his signet ring, and it was the phrase with which he signed his letters and books. Jacob had spoken these words when he pondered God?s goodness despite his own sin and shame: ?I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have shown Your servant? ( Gen. 32:10 ).

Reminders
Jill Price has an extraordinary memory that has stunned scientists. In 2006, her overdeveloped memory was described in a scientific journal article, ?A Case of Unusual Autobiographical Remembering.? Price has no special aptitude for memorizing lists of words, numbers, facts, or languages. But she does remember what happened to her on any given day over the last 30 years. Name any date and Price will tell you what day of the week it was, the weather, what she had for breakfast, the TV programs she watched, and the people she spoke with.

Don?t Forget
One of my favorite Far Side cartoons is captioned ?Superman in his later years.? It shows the elderly Man of Steel perched on a window ledge, ready to leap, as he looks back and says, ?Now where was I going??

Calvary shows how far men will go in sin, and how far God will go for man#39;s salvation.
H. C. Trumbull
Luke 22:33 33When
they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him,
along with the criminalsmdash;one on his right, the other on his left.
Calvary also shows proof that man is enslaved to sin and a stranger to God by birth since the disobedience of Adam and Eve.
Romans 5:12 ,19
12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adamrsquo;s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
19 For as by one manrsquo;s disobedience many were made sinners, so...

The word preach appears 153+ times in the Bible!
The
word ldquo;Preachrdquo; in the Webster dictionary says the word ldquo;Preachrdquo; means
this: To deliver a sermon; To give earnest advice. To proclaim; To
publish in religious discourses; To deliver in public, as a discoursehellip;..
When
people hear the word preach we have a tendency in our minds eye to in
vision a self righteous person pointing the finger telling people get
right or go to hell!
With that in mind folks will use the phrase ldquo;Well I donrsquo;t need to preach to people I just show them with my liferdquo;
While
there is some truth to leading by example...

This week I decided to share a message from a devotional I get because I thought it was important!
Loving People, Not Just Words
By Eric Elder
www.theranch.org (http://www.theranch.org)
The day I put my faith in Jesus was the same day I put my faith in
the Bible, from which I learned about Jesus. I fell in love with
both on the same day.
When people talk about how much they love the Bible, theyrsquo;re not just
talking about a book from which theyrsquo;ve learned much, theyrsquo;re also
talking about a Person from whom theyrsquo;ve learned much.
I suppose itrsquo;s like a young...
