We Eat Bitter Herbs

Ex 12:8-9
That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.
NIV

Bitter herbs remind us of the bitterness of bondage to the land of Egypt (sin).

Passover is actually three different Feasts in one Season

"Passover" is the First of Three seperate holidays collectively called " The Passover Season"  The holidays are called "Passover", 'The Feast of Unleavened Bread' and the "Feast of FirstFruits." Passover begins on the evening of the 14th of the Hebrew month called "Abib", it is also the first day of the seven day period called the Feast of Unleavened Bread. You can check our Hebrew/Western Calender (coming  soon) to see the dates of God's Feasts for this year. Israel is commanded to eat bread made without leaven for seven days.

The Feast of Firstfruits, is observed on the day after the Passover day. The priest was to wave a sheaf of new grain before the Lord. Sheaves of grain often represent people in Biblical images (see Genesis 37) so the Feast of Firstfruits is a picture of New Believers that are now in relationship with God (the waving indicates their proximity to the Lord) and they are free from the power of sin.

Lev 23:10-11
'When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. He is to wave the sheaf before the LORD so it will be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.
NIV
